Original gray-green boards ruled and lettered in white on front cover and lettered in white on spine. Color pictorial label on front cover within a triangular blind panel (with curved sides and rounded points) outlined in blind. Color pictorial endpapers (Quinby Plate VII). Spine very slightly faded, otherwise a near fine copy.
"The year 1909 appears on the front of the title-page of the first three printings. The Notice Board in the picture on page 14, of the market-garden scene, is believed to have been taken out soon after publication as a 1909 copy has been seen without this Notice Board (probably a third printing)" (Linder).
