"In the back of his mind, Andrew Hoyem knew he always wanted to publish a handcrafted Bible. 'It's the Mount Everest for printing," said the California publisher. 'It's certainly complex because it's a very big book.'

"He also wanted to produce the first oversized Bible that's translated in the popular New Revised Standard version, he said. 'There was [a] call, or need, for a lectern-scale Bible of that translation,' he said" (Minneapolis Star Tribune, June 6, 2003).
