First illustrated edition of The Tailors, first editions of The Show Folks! and Bombastes Furioso. Three tomes in one twelvemo volume (6 1/4 x 3 13/16 in; 160 x 97 mm). 69, [3, adv.]; 59, , [4, adv.]; 30 pp. Twenty-six woodcuts, including wrapper and title page vignettes.
Bound by Root and Son in later half calf over boards, each tome in its original printed wrappers (two with woodcut vignettes). Six compartments, three with gilt ornaments and three with gilt lettered spine labels. Bookplate of Desmond Seaton Reid. Some toning or spotting to wrappers, otherwise an excellent collection.
While well-represented in institutional holdings, these three titles are extremely scarce in commerce: only one copy of Egan's The Show Folks! at auction since 1943; one copy of Bombastes Furioso, in 1943; and only one copy at auction of The Tailors, in 1923.
