First [and only?] edition. Oblong quarto (8 13/16 x 11 1/4 inches; 224 x 286.  pp. Thirty six hand colored wood-engraved plates each with between six and nine illustrations. Publishers decoratively blind-stamped dark green ribbed cloth, front cover lettered in gilt, yellow coated end-papers.
The thirty-six plates include three hundred and twenty hand-colored views of: The Isle of Wight; Hasings & St. Leonards; Southampton; The New Forest; Richmond; The River Thames; Tunbridge Wells; Dover; Margate; Ramsgate; Brighton; Lewes; Worthing; Shoreham, and The Isle of Thanet.
Although there are several other copies online - none of them are colored. OCLC lists only four copies located in institutions: Buffalo & Erie Public Library (NY); Yale University Library (CT); University of Illinois (IL), and The National Maritime Museum (UK). None of these records mention that the plates are colored.
