Bound by Bayntun (Rivière) ca. 1960 in three quarter red morocco over red cloth boards ruled in blind. Spine with five raised bands decoratively tooled and lettered in gilt in compartments, top edge gilt, marbled end-papers. Neat ink name on verso of front free end-paper. A fine copy.
"In these days of revived Coaching, when there seems to be a perfect mania amongst the young men of the present day for a trip 'down the Road,' and when the Park is enlivened by so many 'aspirants to the whip,' with their smart coaches and gaudy-going high-stepping teams, I trust I shall not be thought presumptuous in offering a sketch and a few anecdotes of old times to the young Coaching British Public…" (introduction).
