Small quarto (9 1/2 x 8 3/16 inches; 242 x 208 mm.). 139, [1, blank], [1, imp v blank] pp. The verso of the imprimateur leaf with "Imprimé en France" stamped in purple. Twenty-four original illustrations, including five color lithographs by Victor Brauner, Max Ernst, Jacques Hérold, Wifredo Lam, and Joan Miro; five etchings (one in color) by Hans Bellmer, Marcel Jean, Maria Martins, Yves Tanguy, and Dorothea Tanning; two woodcuts by Hans Arp; and 12 lithographs by Serge Brignoni, Alexander Calder, Bruno Capacci, Elizabeth van Damme, Julio de Diego, Enrico Donati, David Hare, Jacqueline Lamba, Matta, Kay Sage, Yves Tanguy and Toyen.
Publisher's plain pink wrappers housed in the publisher's pink paper over board chemise, the front panel with the irregularly shaped black velvet ground BUT lacking the pink foam-rubber breast… in turn housed in the publisher's gray paper over board slipcase with original rectangular blue-bordered label with the words, set as three lines, "Prière de Toucher" on rear panel. Text very slightly toned, chemise repaired on folds, slipcase repaired and rubbed.
