First English edition. Octavo (7 1/2 x 5 1/8 inches; 192 x 130 mm.). viii, 348, [4, advertisements]. With an inserted frontispiece by Charles E. Fripp.

Publisher's red cloth, front cover and spine pictorially blocked in black and lettered in gilt, black coated endpapers. Spine ends worn, front inner hinge slightly cracked, early ink inscription (dated 1904) on front pastedown. A few leaves poorly opened affecting blank margins only. A fair copy priced accordingly.

5,000 copies were published on 27th March 1900 priced 6/-.
